101 List: Updated

I was inspired to write a list of the things you want to do in 2021 — honestly, I wrote whatever came to mind even if it didn’t make sense… aaaand this turned into more of a “lifetime list” but you know, you’re living now so why not put limits on what can happen in a year.

This was a creative outlet to feel fully alive and full of hope after what felt like the hardest year of my life. So many things that feel like me (obviously), but what I’m most excited about has to be skinny dipping in winter, eating a meal that I grew, and seeing the wild horses in North Carolina.

Cheers to dreaming again and seeing God in the midst of it all — “spiritual” sounding or not.

Oh! And here’s how to make your own:

  • Stop overthinking and just WRITE whatever comes to mind that you want to do.

  • You can break it into a “year” list or a “lifetime” list - mine is a lifetime!

  • There’s no need for #3… just keep it simple, childlike, for yourself and voilà!

1. Swim in the ocean (while I have done this before, I’m starting from 2021!)

2. Let my hair be natural for a month

LOVED doing this one because A) Talk about a new level of confidence and B) holy hair growth. My friend said “you look so much like you” and in the words of Taylor Swift, “you don’t know how nice that is.. But I doooo.

3. Stand up for a stranger

4. Teach a class

5. Pick my own bouquet of wildflowers

6. Grow my own meal (aka harvest from my garden) (aka create a garden)

7. Take your grandma on a surprise date

8. Kiss Noah goodnight for a month straight. Sorry, pal. I’ll try again.

9. Buy an old white truck

10. Give $100 to a stranger

11. Paddle board to an island picnic

12. Start a blog

And while I “started” this back in April, I’m glad I finally hit publish.

13. Join a workout class

14. Stop biting my nails dangit.

15. Host a themed party

16. Watch a beach sunset on the East Coast

17. Create a capsule wardrobe

18. Learn from a farmer (in-person)

19. Take a pottery class / make your own dishes

20. Befriend a donkey

21. Move

22. Save up for a 20% down payment on a house

23. Buy a baby blue bikini

24. Get serious about yoga I still have high hopes for this one after I can reach my toes, again.

25. Create/sell your own product

26. Get your first facial

27. Take your mom on a vacation

28. Don’t talk for 3 days

29. Go on a hike that intimidates you

THIS WAS A DREAM COME TRUE. Will not confirm or deny that the water was so cold that I spit up when I went fully under by falling on my back… or the fact that I was stuck there for about .02 seconds that felt like 2 minutes. 43. Create/print your wedding album finally.

47. Howl with wolves (and friends) The friends part, done. Wolves? Not yet. Coyotes? Lucky coincidence back in Wisconsin.

51. Create flower crowns for you and friends

52. Pay for someone’s order anonymously

53. Quit something

54. Text your dad back
